Art. 102a Biometric data for identity cards
1The competent authority may save and store the biometric data required for the issue of the foreign national identity cards. 2The task of recording biometric data and forwarding identity card data to the issuing body may be delegated wholly or in part to third parties.2 3The competent authority may process biometric data already recorded in ZEMIS in order to issue or renew a travel document.3 4The biometric data required for the issue of an identity card shall be updated every five years.
