Art. 102a Biometric data for identity cards 344
1 The competent authority may save and store the biometric data required for the issue of the foreign national identity cards. 2 The task of recording biometric data and forwarding identity card data to the issuing body may be delegated wholly or in part to third parties.345 3 The competent authority may process biometric data already recorded in ZEMIS in order to issue or renew a travel document.346 4 The biometric data required for the issue of an identity card shall be updated every five years.
