¹ The own­er of a deep geo­lo­gic­al re­pos­it­ory must back­fill the stor­age cav­erns and gal­ler­ies after the waste pack­ages have been em­placed.

² Back­filling must be car­ried out in such a man­ner that long-term safety is as­sured and the re­cov­ery of the waste is pos­sible without un­due ef­fort.
