Art. 22

1 The com­pet­ent can­ton­al au­thor­ity may, for sci­entif­ic pur­poses or for edu­ca­tion­al and thera­peut­ic pur­poses, grant ex­cep­tion­al ap­prov­al for pro­tec­ted plants to be gathered or dug up or for an­im­als to be cap­tured in spe­cified areas.

2 It may au­thor­ise the re­mov­al of ri­pari­an ve­get­a­tion for pro­jects lim­ited to a spe­cif­ic site in cases per­mit­ted un­der the le­gis­la­tion on the wa­ter bod­ies pro­tec­tion au­thor­it­ies or on the pro­tec­tion of wa­ter bod­ies.66

3 If on the basis of a dif­fer­ent en­act­ment a fed­er­al au­thor­ity is com­pet­ent to de­cide on a pro­ject, this au­thor­ity shall grant the ex­cep­tion­al ap­prov­al. ...67.68
