Art. 16

In cases where a nat­ur­al land­scape as defined in Art­icle 15, a his­tor­ic­al site, or a cul­tur­al monu­ment of na­tion­al im­port­ance is in im­me­di­ate danger, the Fed­er­al De­part­ment of the En­vir­on­ment, Trans­port, En­ergy and Com­mu­nic­a­tions or the Fed­er­al De­part­ment of Home Af­fairs47 may take tem­por­ary meas­ures to place the site in ques­tion un­der fed­er­al pro­tec­tion and or­der any safe­guards ne­ces­sary for its pre­ser­va­tion.48
