3. Sev­er­ance al­low­ance

a. Re­quire­ments

 

1 Where an em­ploy­ment re­la­tion­ship with an em­ploy­ee of at least 50 years of age comes to an end after twenty years or more of ser­vice, the em­ploy­er must pay the em­ploy­ee a sev­er­ance al­low­ance.

2 If the em­ploy­ee dies dur­ing the em­ploy­ment re­la­tion­ship, such al­low­ance is paid to the sur­viv­ing spouse, re­gistered part­ner or chil­dren who are minors or, in the ab­sence of such heirs, oth­er per­sons to whom he had a duty to provide sup­port.207
