Art. 29 Rules of procedure of the departments and the Federal Chancellery

(Art. 37 and 43 par. 4 GAOA)

1 The de­part­ments and the Fed­er­al Chan­cellery shall is­sue rules of pro­ced­ure for them­selves. In par­tic­u­lar, the fol­low­ing can be reg­u­lated therein:

a.
the ba­sic prin­ciples of the man­age­ment pro­cesses in the de­part­ment or in the Fed­er­al Chan­cellery;
b.
the ba­sic or­gan­isa­tion­al prin­ciples of the de­part­ment and the Fed­er­al Chan­cellery, un­less they are gov­erned by oth­er pro­vi­sions;
c.
the del­eg­a­tion of sig­nat­ory powers;
d.101
the use of ex­tern­al con­sult­ants by groups and of­fices.

2 For in­ter­de­part­ment­al tasks, the com­pet­ent de­part­ments or the Fed­er­al Chan­cellery may is­sue joint rules of pro­ced­ure.

3 The rules of pro­ced­ure shall be pub­licly ac­cess­ible but shall not be pub­lished in the Of­fi­cial Com­pil­a­tion of Fed­er­al Le­gis­la­tion.
