Art. 30 Test surveillance

1 The PTSS may con­duct test sur­veil­lance; in do­ing so, it may work with the pro­sec­u­tion au­thor­it­ies and the FIS. The tests serve the fol­low­ing pur­poses in par­tic­u­lar:

a.
as­sur­ing the qual­ity of the data di­ver­ted to the PTSS and the pro­sec­u­tion au­thor­it­ies by the per­sons or en­tit­ies re­quired to co­oper­ate;
b.
veri­fy­ing the abil­ity of the per­sons or en­tit­ies re­quired to co­oper­ate to provide in­form­a­tion and con­duct sur­veil­lance;
c.
test­ing the PTSS pro­cessing sys­tem;
d.
train­ing pur­poses;
e.
gen­er­at­ing ref­er­ence data.

2 The PTSS may in­struct the per­sons or en­tit­ies re­quired to co­oper­ate to par­ti­cip­ate in gen­er­at­ing the test data. The PTSS shall draw up a test plan after con­sult­ing the per­sons or en­tit­ies re­quired to co­oper­ate.

3 The per­sons or en­tit­ies re­quired to co­oper­ate shall provide the PTSS with the re­quired test tar­gets and the re­quired tele­com­mu­nic­a­tions ser­vices or de­rived com­mu­nic­a­tions ser­vices at its re­quest free of charge and per­man­ently.

4 The pro­sec­u­tion au­thor­it­ies and the FIS may also con­duct cir­cuit tri­als at their own ex­pense for the pur­pose of qual­ity as­sur­ance and the train­ing. To this end, they shall sub­mit or­ders to the PTSS and pay fees.
