Ordinance
on the Surveillance of Post and Telecommunications
(SPTO)

The fol­low­ing types of sur­veil­lance may be ordered:

a.

the in­ter­cep­tion of postal de­liv­er­ies (real time-sur­veil­lance; Sur­veil­lance Type PO_1_RT_IN­TER­CEP­TION);

b.

the pro­vi­sion of the fol­low­ing sec­ond­ary tele­com­mu­nic­a­tions data (real-time sur­veil­lance; Sur­veil­lance Type PO_2_RT_DE­LIV­ERY), in­so­far as they are avail­able:

1.

the ad­dress­ee,

2.

the sender,

3.

the type,

4.

the mail­ing loc­a­tion,

5.

the de­liv­ery status,

6.

the re­cip­i­ent’s sig­na­ture;

c.

the pro­vi­sion of the fol­low­ing sec­ond­ary tele­com­mu­nic­a­tions data (ret­ro­act­ive sur­veil­lance; Sur­veil­lance Type PO_3_HD):

1.

for postal de­liv­er­ies with proof of de­liv­ery: the re­cip­i­ent and the sender as well as the type, the mail­ing loc­a­tion and the de­liv­ery status of the postal de­liv­ery, if avail­able,

2.

if the PSP has re­cor­ded any ad­di­tion­al sec­ond­ary tele­com­mu­nic­a­tions data: all avail­able data.
