¹ Con­sulta­tion of the archive re­cords may be ap­plied for verbally or in writ­ing.

² Con­sulta­tion ap­plic­a­tions dur­ing the re­ten­tion peri­od must be jus­ti­fied in writ­ing.

³ Ap­plic­a­tions to con­sult doc­u­ments still covered by the re­ten­tion peri­od must prove, where ap­plic­able, that they were already in the pub­lic do­main, un­less pub­lic ac­cess is sub­ject to stat­utory con­trol.
