¹ The can­tons pro­sec­ute and judge of­fences. The Con­fed­er­a­tion sup­ports the co-or­din­a­tion of law en­force­ment between the can­tons.

² The FO­CBS ex­am­ines and judges con­tra­ven­tions against this Act with re­gard to trav­el­ling in trans­it and bring­ing weapons in­to Switzer­land.¹⁶⁸

³ If a con­tra­ven­tion un­der para­graph 2 is also an of­fence un­der cus­toms or VAT law, the pen­alty for the more ser­i­ous of­fence is ap­plic­able; the pen­alty may be in­creased ap­pro­pri­ately.
