¹ If cir­cum­stances change, the ser­vi­ent own­er may re­quest that the route of the pipe, cable or con­duit be altered in ac­cord­ance with his or her in­terests.

² The costs of such re-rout­ing are nor­mally borne by the own­er of the dom­in­ant prop­erty.

³ However, where jus­ti­fied by spe­cial cir­cum­stances, an ap­pro­pri­ate por­tion of the costs may be charged to the ser­vi­ent own­er.
