¹ The Fed­er­al Of­fice must be con­sul­ted on the design of the sur­veys, the com­pil­a­tion of the col­lec­ted data, as well as the oth­er data sources of the fed­er­al stat­ist­ic­al bod­ies.

² The Fed­er­al Of­fice en­deav­ours to co­ordin­ate with the can­ton­al stat­ist­ics au­thor­it­ies, and in par­tic­u­lar to co­ordin­ate the sur­vey pro­grammes, and to har­mon­ise the re­gisters or oth­er data re­cords for the pur­pose of pro­cessing stat­ist­ics.

³ It also co­oper­ates with the can­tons, the uni­versit­ies and the re­search centres on stat­ist­ics-re­lated re­search and train­ing mat­ters.
