Federal Act on Geoinformation

¹ The Na­tion­al Sur­vey shall make the geo­spa­tial ref­er­ence data of the Con­fed­er­a­tion avail­able for civil and mil­it­ary pur­poses.

² This task in­cludes in par­tic­u­lar:

a.

the defin­i­tion of the geo­det­ic ref­er­ence sys­tem and the es­tab­lish­ment, up­dat­ing and man­age­ment of the ref­er­ence frame­work;

b.

the mo­nu­ment­a­tion and sur­vey of na­tion­al bor­ders;

c.

the col­lec­tion, up­dat­ing and man­age­ment of to­po­graph­ic­al in­form­a­tion for na­tion­al land­scape mod­els;

d.

the pre­par­a­tion of the Na­tion­al Map series.

³ The Fed­er­al Coun­cil shall reg­u­late the re­spons­ib­il­it­ies, or­gan­iz­a­tion, pro­ced­ure and meth­ods.
