Art. 57 Residual data memory

The residual data memory is used to store data that cannot be immediately allocated to another system in accordance with Article 48.

If an information entry in the residual data memory contains personal data, an assessment of relevance and accuracy in accordance with Article 45 paragraph 1 is made for the entry as a whole and not in relation to the individual personal data. An individual assessment is made if the personal data is transferred to another information system.

FIS employees that have the task of recording, researching, evaluating and assuring the quality of the data have online access to the residual data memory.

The maximum retention period for the data is 10 years.
